O'er the Dale

O'er the Dale

By Noël Justine

Sylvie Crossley, a quiet young lady whose entry into the world has been surrounded by mystery and intrigue, is bound by her curiosity to find herself in a scrape or two. She was taken in by Walter and Alice Crossley, an older, childless couple, when she was only a small babe. Her gypsy  parents were found dead from disease in an abandoned camp, not too far from the Crossley Farm. Sylvie doesn’t know what she wants from life, but what she does know is that she wants an adventure.

Tommy Graham, a young farmer who is as good-natured as he is hard-working, is loved by all, but not well known by many. Duty bound and faithful, his mother raised him in hopes that he would be a man of the cloth, but his father, a man of the field.  Unsure as to where the direction of his life is heading, he finds himself in an unexpected place when Providence brings his life’s calling to his door.

The passage of time escapes no man, and while the Dales have weathered many storms, its people change like the seasons. The realities of life and loss, happiness and sorrow, peace and strife, and the goodness of God to keep hope alive, are all found in the people of the Dales and the tales yet to be told. Until now…
